"The sniper" and "Beware of the dog"
"The Sniper" and "Beware of the Dog" both show perspectives of war sharing the setup of man vs. enemy. "The Sniper," is about a person killing an enemy that turns out to be his brother, and "Beware of the Dog" is a conflict between Peter and the Germans. However, while these stories share a similar theme, they also differ. A major theme of "Beware of the Dog" is determination through misfortune and a major theme of "The Sniper" is the tragedy of war. In the end both stories show an unfortunate ending; "the sniper" with the death of a brother and in "Beware of the Dog," Peter gets captured. Overall, both stories show different hardships of war. Both stories show suspense and that in every war there are scarifies.
